This is what summer is all about; family gatherings at summer homes, cousin time, catching up on life, traditional summer picnic foods and fun colorful outfits celebrating the now endless warmth of summer. We have met so many playful families and photographed so much love and laughter over the years, but this family reunion of-sorts may just take the cake for a good time! Last week I spent an evening with more families than I could even keep track of and who-belongs-to-who and feasted on some fabulous food from Alexander’s in Fish Creek. This week has been filled with smiles as I relive all the laughter we shared that night. A HUGE thank you for all the love from this family – you have warmed my heart.

Rustic Door County Barn Wedding {katie & mark}
For months we’ve looked forward to spending this evening with dear friends of ours from back in the day. The celebrations we’ve captured in Door County have each incorporated a unique welcome for guests embracing the traditions of the county. From a late summer fish boil to epic early summer bonfire, nothing has been short of amazing.
Mark and Katie grew up in Door County and this was our first ‘childhood home’ wedding up there. Having grown up riding her bike up the road to grandma and grandpas farm, there was no other place Katie would have wanted this celebration to be. Enjoy a different look at Door County and this hometown gathering of friends and family.

Cherry Picking {sister time in door co}
Cherry picking in Door County Wisconsin seems like something everyone has done. Kari and I had not up until this day, go figure since we are seemingly there many summer weekends for weddings.
With Kari no longer at the studio, we aim to fill our time together with laughter and childhood fun. Enjoy this little montage of two girls, one bucket.
