Bo and Stephanie celebrated so much love the other weekend at Givens Farm in Hortonville, WI. Stepping foot on this unexpected venue so close to home was a treat. A peaceful small country town, a breathtaking home and an epic sunset amongst a vinyard on a rolling hill is kind of everyone’s dream! Even better than the amazing vendors we were able to work with, was the feeling we were left with. Such a genuine joy between two people – the best start to a long, everlasting love!
The day was perfectly sunny and hot, just like July in Wisconsin is expected to be. Watching these two through our cameras, it was obvious how HAPPY they are! Smiles and tears, (the best kind) were apparent with each move they made. From getting dressed for the best day ever, walking down the aisle to the rest of their lives and dancing the night away in the middle of a young vineyard ~ you couldn’t miss the radiating joy these two have for each other. We wish you the absolute best Bo and Stephanie, thank you for inviting us to be a part of your day!

Backyard Door County Wedding
Alex & Sally enjoyed their wedding day, rain AND shine! Besides a quick burst from the clouds that halted the ceremony shortly, everything went off without a hitch. Instead of dragging chairs back out for the ceremony, the party decided to surround this beautiful couple on their feet which made for a very intimate feeling… just see for yourselves and read what Sally had to say about the day as well!
From the bride: I was hoping for a glorious Door County Summer Lake Party type of wedding, and what I got was a blustery, mid-60’s, periodic torrential thunderstorm, people running for their lives type of wedding. And it was still the most perfect day.
The Moms planned everything to perfection (I honestly didn’t even know what we were going to have for dinner!) from the amazing food, a delightful photographer, to having the foresight to get a tent with very secure walls! Rebecca (A Delightful Day Floral Design) made the most incredible floral arrangements that far exceeded expectations and managed to make even a mostly rainy day in a tent look bright and beautiful. Instead of cake, the Moms worked with Pink Bakery in Egg Harbor to make Door County cherry pies and, by special request, Key Lime pies, a nod to Alex and I meeting when we were both living in Key West. I was skeptical that a bakery in Wisconsin could make a decent Key Lime pie but, wow, I was wrong. It was absolutely incredible!
Advice for brides-to-be: Relax. All those things that you think will matter? They won’t. There are a ton of little details that I wanted (needed!) to take care of that I didn’t end up having time for, or forgot, and at the end of it all, not a single one of those things mattered. All that mattered was having our favorite people in the world together in one place to celebrate, even as it was a tent in the cold rain.
