Gah… I love fall. Actually, I really don’t because I know what comes next; blah. What I do love is that come fall there’s suddenly this panic from families far and wide to get family photos done. I recently spent an afternoon with a few very dear families in Door County and, well, we had a little fun.
Cutting your own Christmas tree is often an event that many families look forward to yearly. Heritage Christmas Tree Farm, in Wild Rose Wisconsin, was the perfect setting for the Henning Families annual voyage of memory making. Nestled amongst rolling hills, this 4th generation pet friendly tree farm truly makes the experience magical. After hunting for your tree, you’re treated like family with cups of hot cocoa and homemade chili to enjoy around a cozy bonfire. Sledding and hayrides are also available on weekends as well as a mailbox ensuring Santa letters make it to the North Pole.
Christmas traditions should be treated as magical. We are so fortunate here in Wisconsin to have such dedicated tree farmers who care enough to keep traditions alive. Oh boy! Having two sweet quiet little girls at home is quite a shift when trying to keep up with little boys. Mothers of boys, you certainly have your work cut out for you!
I love capturing this family year after year and each session we do seems to get a touch more… enthusiastic. This session was all about running… and running and chasing and running some more. And after the running wore out there was jumping and flying and super hero time. But, after all was said and done there was just enough energy left for a few tender little moments to be captured and held forever.
