There’s a sense of calm at a rehearsal dinner. The night before a wedding is a special small-scale celebration that we loved capturing this year. It’s a time to relax and truly enjoy the effort it took everyone to come together.
Our most recent Door County wedding had quite the rehearsal celebration. Not a single guest was from Wisconsin, rather an epic gathering of people from New York City and St. Louis. While mingling with guests I came to learn that no one understood why on earth this couple had invited everyone to a remote location dappled with ‘unincorporated’ harbor towns until they truly got to experience Door County. Guests were welcomed to a beautiful cottage in Fish Creek overlooking cedar trees, the Great Lakes and a breathtaking sunset. They were then treated to a a fish boil at The White Gull Inn, a local and unforgettable Door County tradition. Afterwards, everyone strolled down Main Street to the Bayside Tavern for a raucous party lead by the Grateful Dead tribute New Speedway Players from Madison. Everything fit and was a perfect story to kick off Drew and Sophie’s wedding weekend. Enjoy!
