They know your vendors and who you’ll love working with most.

Event planners have their hand in a little bit (or a lot bit) of every wedding planning detail, which means they know quite a few vendors personally. When you’re searching for the perfect band, caterer, florist or (ahem…) photographer, you can bet they’ll have great suggestions. And the best part, you’ve enlisted them to give you their best so you can bet they will point you in the right direction for vendors that fit your budget and vision.

They save you time and allow you to enjoy your engagement season.

When you join forces with an event planner for your wedding day that doesn’t mean you have to give up all aspects of planning. You are encouraged to be a part of planning as much, or as little as you please. But let us tell you, the little tasks are typically what take over your life. Having a wedding planner allows you the freedom to let go of those and focus on the wedding details that mean the most to you all while still enjoying your engagement!

Wedding weekend timeline.

This is going to come up constantly throughout your planning process . . . your timeline! Practically every vendor is going to reference it but your wedding planner will be the one to perfect it. We’ve noticed that weddings with planners flow so much smoother than weddings without. This isn’t just because they are present to control the little things that pop up, but also because they plan accordingly for the day’s events. They’ve been through the process a few times so you can count on them to guide your day flawlessly.

They are immersed in the wedding world and know the ins and outs.

Just to reiterate, this is their job. They plan events all year long and have extensive knowledge about throwing fabulous parties. They are ready for any curve ball you send their way and will most likely hit it out of the park each and every time. Handing your wedding day over for someone else to execute can be a scary thought, but your vision is the first thing on their mind and they are experienced in executing it perfectly!

They can mediate sticky situations on your behalf.

Most guests might never know the woes that can pop up on a wedding day and if you’ve hired a wedding planner you might not either! Having someone present to put out any fires that can (and probably will) arise is priceless. You can also count on your planner to guide families and guests in the right directions (so to speak) if personal opinions deem it necessary. Better to let that responsibility fall on your planner’s shoulders than to spend your wedding day mediating sticky situations yourself.

Keep your vision on point and consistent.

As you travel through your engagement season and plan your wedding day, it is easy to get distracted with all of the amazing options you have before you. When you enlist the service of an event planner, you are also asking them to keep your vision cohesive. They built their business on executing the best events possible and doing it with style, trust them to take your vision and multiply it into perfection.

Be 100% present on your wedding weekend.

We are completely aware of how much effort goes into planning a wedding, which is why we take such pride in documenting every inch of your day. More than anything, your vendors want you to have an amazing event and your planner will play a big role in that happening. They are with you through so many steps of the planning process that when your wedding day finally arrives, you can bet they won’t allow you to do anything more than enjoy it. And you deserve that! Slipping into your wedding attire, gathering with your closest friends before walking down the aisle, your first kiss, your first dance . . . you can be completely present in each moment because you know someone else has got your back and is keeping the party flowing.

To add to this, your guests are able to be 100% present as well. Many times mothers, aunts, and close friends will be asked to take responsibility for small parts of the day, which we know they are thrilled to do on your behalf. But imagine asking them to be fully present for your marriage instead of moving gifts from the venue to the hotel, or clearing table decor at the end of the night. Inviting those you love and cherish to enjoy your wedding instead of work it is a huge difference and most definitely noticed.

Lawrence University Love Story {hannah + dustin}

There was not a dry eye in the room when Hannah and Dustin spoke their vows to one another in a very intimate setting at The Warch Center at Lawrence University where they had met just few years prior.  The message that day will forever be with me as it was the simplest and most true to any wedding ceremony I’ve witnessed… ‘Pay attention & keep up’.

Hannah and Dustin shared a day FILLED with so much love and laughter and so many personal touches. Hannah being an English major at the school they both studied at guided their reception decor with old books, scrabble letters and vintage typewriters. Enjoy a peek into this beautiful day.

With such stunning dresses individually chosen by each girl, one of Hannah’s must-have photos was her very own version of The Bridesmaids. Well done, wouldn’t you say!

Wisconsin Wedding Photographer {Andrea & Luke)

It was an absolute perfect day for Luke and Andrea’s open air wedding this summer at North Shore Golf Club. Some weddings are blessed with the most of beautiful days where everything flows as planned with the only things left to do are smile, relax and enjoy the amazing day you planned. Surrounded by friends and family, Luke and Andrea got to do just that. Andrea knew precisely how she wanted their special day to go and with the help of Sash & Bows attention to all the details, it was a day to remember. From our experience, brides that choose to have a wedding planner truly get to soak in the little and grand moments of the day that seemingly flies by, as it should be.

Finding a practical gift for your attendees is not an easy task but Andrea nailed it with these adorable robes from Plum Pretty Sugar. Kobe’s Bowtie found and bought on Etsy – SillyBuddy These pure, gentile moments of the day are so special to witness. A big day for all indeed!

Andrea and her father chose to have a First Look before Andrea and her handsome groom did one.  It was such a genuine moment to recognize her Daddy in that way. It still brings a huge smile to my face to see dad’s reaction to the vision of his little girl dressed in white for her big day.

Equally a profound father son moment, possibly the last time he’ll assist Luke in this manner. Two minds racing with heartfelt thoughts and wonders. Talk about butterflies. Can’t you feel the excitement for them? These first look moments are equally breathtaking. So pure and sweet. Andrea’s bouquet choices gets our vote for the best use of color harmony.  The soft tones and textures of the succulents were accented perfectly with the girls dresses. The way their hands are tenderly embracing speaks so much. I adore these sweet moments that tend to fade from the memory over time. Such a natural feeling to be married under a beautiful tree canopy. Signature ‘Berry Benrud Mojito’ to refresh and toast to. Those paper straws add just the perfect touch of class. Yard games bring such a great playful energy to the cocktail hour. This custom bean bag game was a darling investment choice. I’ve seen plenty of custom place cards but these were amazing. Each card playfully represented in such a classy manner what was to come. Willows, I always gravitate towards their beauty. So restful, romantic and texturally interesting. Afternoon light presents such beautiful imagery. I love focusing on tender moments. Imagine smelling these cakes from across the room even before seeing them. That familiar smell of sweet butter-cream was just the first attraction to these stunning pastry creations. Receptions become memorable when there is room to mingle and disperse beyond the dance floor. We always love the atmosphere North Shore Country Club creates after dusk. Yes, fireworks were a surprise treat to ALL the guests at Andrea & Luke reception. Not even Mon and Dad knew about this sweet ending!
