Melissa and Yves… where do I begin! It’s always nerve racking meeting a new couple for the first time… especially if they hired you to shoot their wedding from 1000 miles away! I do my best to educate clients on the style of my art and feel them out to make sure we’re a great fit. This is your wedding! This will probably be the most important day of your life thus far and the day that will guide your future. A day that you will be pouring your heart and soul into so I want to make sure we’re on the same page.

When I first talked to Melissa and asked her about the celebration they have planned my mind ran wild. She was describing it to me and the words that were spilling out of her mouth were of a winter wedding in a small prairie church and a barn reception with horse and sleigh and instruments for family and friends to play music and celebrate with. I was ecstatic and knew we were the right fit!

When they came to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving they also met with me and, admittedly, the first thing I thought of when I met them was Lois Lane and Clark Kent. How can these two not belong together? Their story has already been written and it’s full of romance and adventure which is just how these two are living life. They adore each other to no end and were a delight to play with. Check back in a few weeks for their winter wedding as we hope for a beautiful blanket of fresh white snow.

A LoveSession {Chelsea & Gregory}

Engagement photos will be some of the only photos you and your Love will have together outside of your wedding day and the possible start of a new family. Most couples just do not get their photos taken together… ever! To me the LoveSession is a time to explore each others creative minds. I dearly believe it’s a critical part of the wedding photography process and is why I include a session with every wedding collection. It’s our time to bond, to get to know one another and for you to have fabulous photos taken together.

I often ask my couples if they have anything in mind or have any vision for there images. Some incorporate elements of their wedding, some choose heirloom items to incorporate and some just simply want themselves and the beautiful world around them. Chelsea and Gregory chose elements from their past and future with a handed down blanket to symbolize love and tradition along with a few Penguin Classics they plan to weave into their wedding theme. Chelsea and Gregory I’m very much looking forward to again getting to photograph you on your wedding day. Congratulations!

Wisconsin Wedding Photographer, {Jena & Brandon :: Love Session}

One of the beauties of falling in love is that your days are filled with seemingly endless laughter and smiles. Personalities are revealed as moments are created. When Jena, a photographer herself, contacted us I knew right then that we’d have a session full of energy and spunk. It’s refreshing to have just the right amount of sweet moments coupled with uninhibited fun.

I need to thank Jena & Brandon for both taking turns working the camera, this is a session still making me smile.
